Gathering Steam and Contracts

Yippee! Vixen Virgins was accepted for publication by LSB. Two more contracts with LSB to mention, Kissing Clause and The Viscount's Muse. I have a new Regency in mind to come next.

As for Triskelion, I've contracted The Deed, part of the Santa Baby novellas, and A Most Dangerous Affair, a full length Regency. I've just finished edits for The Vampyre Scrolls: Damien and Charisse, which will be hitting the web in December. I'll have three releases that month between Vamp and my Xmas shorts.

I have a few more promised MS to wrap up, but next will be the Muse anthology. If you haven't visited Behind the Muses yet, do so now. The link is on the right. My friends and I will be working on the antho together and it promises to be a lot of fun.

Procrastination and its Problems

I wrapped up my Christmas anthology a week in advance. Say it with me, "Thank goodness!" Now it's on to Vixen Virgins, anthology I'm working on with Beth Williamson for LSB. I'm about halfway through, another fifteen thousand words to go.

I started thinking...how in the world do I accomplish any writing? I work full time, I karaoke Wednesday through Saturday. I figure I must be doing it in my sleep or doing a heck of a lot of writing Sunday through Tuesday. Truth be told, Sunday is my normal "writing" day when I plop my butt at my computer and type like a dervish. Now if only I could tear myself away from the 'net....

Deadlines and Debutantes

As a burgeoning romance writer, I'm starting to be faced with all sorts of deadlines. This week (my birthday week), I suffered from a raging case of strep throat while trying to complete a WIP which is scheduled to be part of a Christmas anthology. Not that I'm a Scrooge, but it's hard enough to catch the Christmas spirit in December, much less get jingle bellish in the oppresive heat of July in Alabama. Tonight, I only have 6000 words to go, so I should be wrapping up in a couple of days. Then it's on to my next WIP due by September 1.

But while on the subject of my birthday...despite my strep, I had a blast. I partied, karaoked, and partied some more. Just call me a social butterfly. I flutter from one day to the next, never knowing where I might end up. It's a miracle I ever get any of my WIP's completed when you consider that four nights out of seven I can be found at my favorite hangout, the Riverboat Lounge, home of the greatest karaoke in southeast Alabama.
