Today I'm pleased to have Allyson Lindt with me. I had the pleasure of working with Allyson on a project we have coming up in December (more on that later), and couldn't wait to have her visit me at the new (old) blog. Allyson shared an exciting excerpt from Conflict of Interest,  free this weekend at iTunes and Amazon.

Thanks for coming by, Allyson, and Happy Friday!

Kenzie propositions a sexy stranger in a coffee shop to prove to herself she’s capable of taking a risk. She doesn’t expect him to be sitting across from her the following Monday as her newest client. Even worse, she can’t stop thinking about what might have happened between them on a personal level if it weren’t for their professional relationship. He knows how to push her buttons, and she doesn’t want him to stop.
Scott has built his software company from the ground up to escape things like stuffy old men telling him how to behave, so he loathes his board of directors ordering him to make the public forget he doesn’t have a verbal filter. When his new publicity manager is the almost-fling he never expected to see again, he seizes the opportunity to have fun and still pretend he’s complying with the board’s edict.
Giving in to desire could mean both their jobs, but each “one last time” always leads to another. Now they have to decide what they’re willing to sacrifice to indulge this conflict of interest.

“Don’t you need to get home?” He didn’t pull away, and his skin was hot against hers.

The same argument she’d had with herself when Riley called echoed in her thoughts, but this time she was leaning toward continuing to swap one-liners with the sexy stranger instead of trudging back to her condo.

She shifted her weight in the seat and leaned into his hand, her voice almost lost in the storm outside. “Right. I should do that.”

The corner of his mouth twitched, fingertips gliding along the back of her neck.

“You’re not convincing me.”

She exhaled at the light touch, currents of anticipation flowing through her. “I haven’t convinced myself.”

“Maybe I can help tip the scales in my favor.” He dipped his head and brushed his lips over hers.

She whimpered and scooted closer, returning the kiss. His mouth was hot against hers, his muffled chuckle ending in a groan when she nipped at his bottom lip. His fingers tangled in her hair, tongue probing her mouth. Her hand rested on his chest, and she traced the bulk that was solid muscle.

He tugged her head back with a hungry growl, tongue gliding down her jaw and neck, resting in the hollow at the base of her throat. His words vibrated against her skin. “If I’d thought things out…” He kissed along her collarbone, teeth grazing the soft skin where her shoulder met her neck. “I might have actually made this a love van.”

She arched her back when his fingers danced up her spine. She pressed her chest into his, the rough texture of damp fabric biting into her skin. The sensation was enticing, but left her wanting the clothes out of the way completely. “I can’t believe it’s never come up before.”

His laugh was a low rumble, laden with lust. He pushed the bottom of her shirt up, caressing her waist. “Trust me, that’s not an issue now. It’s up.”

The innuendo was horrible but alluring. A bold voice in her thoughts drove her and overrode her hesitation. Her fingers dropped to his leg, caressing the inside of his thigh, damp denim harsh against the pads of her fingertips. “You mentioned something earlier about a hands-on experiment?”

He growled against her shoulder, and his hand moved to the front of her shirt, sliding up her stomach. “Now you’re just teasing me.”

She squirmed under his touch, need growing hot between her legs. “Now? What were we doing before?”

Rosanna Leo Brings her Gemini Island Shifters!

Due to technical difficulties, I had to revamp an old blog of mine. Reading through some of my old posts, I realize my life hasn't slowed down one bit! But to christen the new (old) blog, I invited Rosanna Leo over to share her latest Gemini Island Shifter. This series is one big ball of hotness, that keeps growing hotter with each new addition. Welcome, Rosanna, and I'm glad you could join me today! Can't wait to learn more about your jaguar shifter!

“You have freckles.”
Thanks so much, Robin, for hosting me today! I’m thrilled to bring you my latest paranormal romance Predator’s Fire, Gemini Island Shifters 5.
When I read a romance, I’m often entranced by how love can bloom among ordinary gestures and day-to-day life. Let’s face it, for most of us, not every moment is filled with swashbuckling adventure. I think it’s important to capture this in a novel as well. After all, sometimes it’s the little things that help us fall in love.
Sometimes it’s a simple touch, a guiding hand on the back or a palm pressed to a cheek. Sometimes it’s a few words, uttered quietly but with meaning, that lets us know the hero is completely over the moon for the heroine. Yes, passion can express itself with grand gestures as well, but I love exploring the emotions behind some of those quieter moments.
At one point in Predator’s Fire, hero Killian and heroine Nina are sitting around a campfire among others. He glances over at her and remarks out of nowhere, “You have freckles.” For Nina, this three-word sentence lets her know he’s been watching her, noticing her attributes, maybe even seeing the things others have failed to see. It’s not just a comment about her skin, it illustrates how much he’d like to get closer to her skin. It shows us his curiosity, his focus and his interest in her. No swashbuckling here, but I love the intimacy of the moment.
What little gestures have captured your heart?
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy Predator’s Fire!
BLURB AND EXCERPT FOR PREDATOR’S FIRE

Blurb:

When Nina Suzuki discovers the body of her best friend Janine, her world turns upside down. Things go from bad to worse when Janine’s corpse seems to transform into that of a large, brown wolf. For the first time, Nina is faced to confront all the clues indicating her BFF was not what she seemed. A letter from the dead woman opens Nina’s eyes to a strange, new world. The same letter warns of a sinister group called the Alpha Brethren, and urges her to find Killian Moon of the Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort on Gemini Island.
Killian Moon is a jaguar shifter and teen mentor at the Ursa Lodge in Northern Ontario. He may be a comfort and inspiration to confused teen shifters, but he also has a fiery past. His past comes back to haunt him when human Nina arrives at the resort, demanding to speak with him. Demanding answers. Can he trust her with knowledge that will not only change her life, but possibly endanger those around him?
As Killian begrudgingly tutors Nina on all things shifter, their mutual curiosity flares into passionate need. Once they touch, once they succumb to desire, there is no going back. Killian realizes Nina is his mate and they both begin to comprehend the terror threatening those on their shifter-friendly island. He is forced to confront the tragedy in his family and determines to protect Nina at all costs.
But can they protect everyone they love from a cult of dangerous shifters, intent on horror and destruction?

Excerpt:

“How much longer do I have to wait? I want to see Killian Moon. Now.”
The feminine voice, strangely soft despite its insistence, echoed deep in his being, awakening his jaguar. The great cat roared to life, turned toward the office and inhaled deeply. Its eyes flashed in interest.
In...recognition?
Killian breathed in at the same time, catching the scent of cherry blossoms through the door. The sweet perfume, mixed with human outrage, proved a heady distraction, making him forget why he was there. Shaking his head, he tried to dismiss the odd sensation as Ryland opened the door.
The door swung open and the first person he glimpsed was one of the clerks from reception, trying his hardest to placate the unexpected guest. “I’m sure Mr. Snow and Mr. Moon will be right back.”
And then his gaze landed on the petite human. Tapered Asian eyes, so dark and mysterious, but rimmed with circles of exhaustion. Smooth, cinnamon skin hinted at a mixed background. Wearing no makeup, she appeared younger than she must be, but her presence and keen eyes pegged her at around thirty years old. She had a riot of curly, black hair and feminine curves that ought to come with a warning. He could see it now. Beware: this woman’s body will cause insanity in men. Even as she gesticulated at the clerk, her boobs jiggled in such a way his throat went dry.
He pictured her in a corset, her breasts spilling over delicate lace edging, and almost forgot his name.
This Nina Suzuki was damn hot and his jaguar seemed to agree. The animal licked its lips, its golden gaze assessing and appreciating every detail, from her rounded hips to her come-hither rack.
Yes, the creature uttered on a frenzied breath.
